A couple of days ago I was reading the zombie survival guide by max brooks with a tool catalog next to me open on the axes and hammers section when my brother walked in the room, noticed both the book and the catalog and asked. "What are you doing?"

The sane response might not be.

"Well someone in the family should be ready."

It was meant as a joke but he seems to be avoiding me Embarassed

Laugh  Guess we know who will be the first zombie snack in your family.  Wink

Haha, snack being the appropriate word, scrawny little bastard a zombie is just as likely to ignore him like a month old bread stick. Though it's funny how many strange looks I get after buying that book, but i'm kinda past caring, it's a great read even if people think i'm having a mental breakdown.

I own the Zombie Survival Guide too, but I've never gotten funny looks for reading it :/

Good Book.

At my last duty assignment in the Army before I retired I was looking through an issue of Shotgun News and talking about going to a gun show that coming weekend (I like collecting old firearms especially old military firearms).  One of the civilians that worked in the section asked "You're not one of those 'UN World Government is going to take over' survivalists are you?"  My response was "No, I'm preparing for the coming zombie apocalypse."

He looked at me strangely for several moments then finally said "I think I would've preferred you to be one of those survivalists."

I prefer World War Z, it's pretty much the same info, but it also has narrative :D

Came across this at a gun store today.  Looks like Hornady Ammunition is trying to cash in on the zombie craze.

It's that kind of ineptitude and lack of firing discipline that allows zombies to get so numerous in the first place.  Laugh

And World War Z was getting the film treatment last I heard, will be interested to see if they do it justice.

Though point of interest for this crowd, in the guide he covers, very briefly mind, the likelihood of infection by sexual relations with a zombie, though he says the nature of the virus suggests a high danger of infection, but he notes after, that there is an argument that the congealed nature of undead bodily fluids, the chances of infection from a non-bite contact should be low.

But then zombies are created in all manner of ways so it's really up to the writer/artist how their zombie plague works.Wink

Also I seem to get strange looks in general, would of thought people would realize how weird I am by now, apparently I can still act outside their expectations.

As i'm currently unemployed and looking for things to do, I was checking out a local college website and found a creative writing course. Now i'm wrangling with the temptation of improvement and advice on publication, with the bizarre fear of the minute possibility that someone, somehow would recognize a fragment of my writing having it's origins here and going "OMG! you're falcon"

I don't know why but that thought is simultaneously awesome and terrifying.

As some of you might know the first bit of a story I posted here was Containment Breach, but after a heartbreaking incident with my computer I lost pretty much all of the story.

After a long, long time desperately trying to re-write the thing, tonight I made the decision to give up on it.

I'm not sure if anyone even cares about getting to see the finished version anymore but I just thought i'd let you know that I won't be posting it at all now and I wanted to apologize for that.

Sorry to hear Falcon. Although they are not much commented on, I think people like the stories. And it is always a let down to lose work you have done by accident, it can be difficult to get that creative spark back.

Ya I was actually looking forward to reading more but I can understand about not wanting to redo it. I am actually going to try my hand a writing a story myself since I have an idea of where I want to go. It is even hard to find the drive to sit down and write when I am excited about seeing what I can come up with. I wouldn't want to recreate a story I had already written since it would frustrate me again and again knowing I had already done it and knowing that it probably wouldn't really be the same.

Well it was a long time ago now, it was actually on Faustie's tracing shadows, flesh and bones forum, and it was on my old computer which has long been rotting in silicon hell, but thanks for the offer Prime.

And thanks for sympathizing Robyn and Mr Ice, also good luck with your own writing

The above is a kickstarter for an anime themed card game where you play a tentacle monster trying to capture college girls.  They should have had Faustie do the art.

edit:  Just remove the spaces in the url above to go to the site, it wouldn't paste correctly otherwise.

They confirmed it's a lifeform if I'm not mistaken due to it having what they actually think is a phallic protrusion.
