I just had to write ( and draw) a little something about these guys over at Soda Pop Miniatures.  this game, like many other amazing things these days, was being funded entirely by donations via Kickstarter. However recently Kickstarter has shut down their pledge page, in a move that would have brought lesser men to their knees.  However, the crew at Soda Pop have decided to stake it alone, a brave and viable option in today’s digital age.  I 100% support their efforts in making this game a reality, and I’m hoping some of you will as well.  I’ve donated a picture and $25 to their cause, and I’m calling on any of you with spare change burning a hole in your pocket to consider doing the same.  If I am reading their website correctly, they already have a massed an impressive fortune to get this thing up and running so there’s little risk ( IMO) of this thing just going belly up.  And donations actually net you things, like the game, exclusive artwork, etc.  Check out the site! Fertility Doctors here in town have proven to so far know an awful lot about penises. And through them I’ve learned a lot too. I think it’s important when tackling a problem like infertility to listen closely and try your best to understand what you are being told.  However, when it comes to vaginas, apparently you can be the picture of health, both internally and externally, be producing healthy eggs and have a lot of them,  and still be infertile. When you ask why, you get a sort of glazed over stare, followed by ” well it could be lots of things.”   This may prompt someone to ask, ” like what?”  I’m still waiting for the answer.

for those that still don’t know, my wife and I have been trying to have a baby now for 3 yearsish, and it’s getting frustrating.  You learn all kinds of reasons why things might not be working, but when the missus goes through a battery of test after test and comes back with clean bill of health, each of those reasons becomes invalid. Yet here we are.  We’ve had our share of good and bad advice slung our way by several doctors now too, and I think we’re both just fed up with the shoulder shrugs when we ask the one question that matters: Why isn’t this shit working?

So yeah. Apparently vaginas are mysterious doors into alternate dimensions where one is as likely to produce offspring as they are to find leprechauns, centaurs, rainbows, and black holes.  I know there’s like 103 jokes there, but in all seriousness it kind of pisses me off that we know so little about why good sperm + healthy ladybits = ???= profit.  If I were religious I’d think a miracle might need to be involved.

I drew this to, as I always do, both make fun of the situation and point out to myself and anyone else who cares, the absurdity of the situation.  There’s no good advice to give, so don’t feel obligated.  I just …grah.  man. grah. My wife deserves this.  I’ve never met a better person in my entire life and it tears me up to see her hollowed out by this experience like a stacking doll. We’re going to try a few more procedures in the coming months, hopefully one of them will be the one that slays the endboss, or whatever else is going on in there that’s keeping my baby from me.

sorry for the emotions.  I’ll be fine tomorrow. And I’m not just saying that like I don’t mean it. Yesterday was just rough. night all.

My boss was out of town this last week, and my wife was away all weekend visiting family.  This left me a lot of time to work on art.  Aside form these 2, I’ll be adding a new creature to the Gentleman’s Bestiary tonight, and a couple more soon after that hopefully.  I also worked on the new comic, and I started oil painting a dead roach I found on the floor here.  So a full weekend all in all.

So hello!  It’s been a little bit, my apologies for going dark for a while there.  I was going to draw a comic to explain what’s been going on but that time needs to be better spent right now.  My wife and I had a procedure to impregnate her.  Well, that just sounded awful…

did you know that they carry Hustler and Penthouse at fertility clinics, just waiting to be used for nefarious sperm collecting means?  Fascinating.  So, the good news is we survived the process and I have injected her with 17 million sperms. We shall see what happens. Science!

I’ve ALSO been busy with work. I got emo for a while. I got over it. I started lifting weights, and it feels good so I’m going to stick with it.  But WAY more important than all that stuff ( to you) i started a new comic!  I don’t want to post it yet because it needs a lot of love, but its coming along really well.  It’s about 8ish pages so far, and it’s really slick. I do not have an ETA but in the meantime I have a couple more commissions to finish that I think you will enjoy, and then hopefully comic not much behind that.  Also, I’m changing my commission status to CLOSED for now. I need about 2-3 weeks away from other people’s ideas right now. As much as I love them!  I need to make some serious decisions about this art show in August and I’ll need to do some serious work on my art if I decide to go for it. p.s. I noticed that if I middle click an image, or open an image from the Art Wall into a new tab, it opens the image as a savable version.  not sure why, and not sure if that’s consistent, but if anyone is still trying to save my art, that might be an easy(ier) work around if it works.  thanks!

there’s a part 2 around the corner, but I’m betting you can guess where this is going i hope to have it finished soon, and then it looks like there’s another piece or 2 in the mix, along with those sketches I did for me that i still need to color. In related news, my forearms are sore.

i got invited to display my art at an erotic art gallery thing in San Fransisco this year, i have until August to RSVP along with 10 or so pieces that might make it in.  I’m on the fence about whether or not to pursue this though, it’s a hefty financial investment to get 10 pieces printed and framed. ( generally ~$100 a pop) You also have to pay $100 to be part of the show. Gallery fee. Which I understand.  also if you sell anything the gallery takes 30%, which means to recoup my cost I’ll have to charge at least 30% more than I paid to have the work printed and framed, and that’s just to break even.  It’s hard to sell your pieces when you charge more then they are worth.  And there’s a plane ticket.  Any marketer will tell you its money in the bank to just have your works on display but when I have to spend ~$1,500 to do so…. i dunno. it would be cool to display my works in a real-world venue as part of an actual show.  It would also be cool to still have $1,500.  thoughts?

My next commission is a zombie 2 parter, and it looks like there’s more interest on the horizon that I will respond to soon.  I’ve got a few personal pieces involving hags and enormous bloated things in the works too, so look for those soon i hope!
