Shadowmass

Brutal and cunning, the Shadowmass appear to be a creature made of sentient bipedal night.  Some theorize the Shadowmass are actually a race of ancient creatures adorned in magnificent armor that gives them their telltale appearance and mutability.  They are intelligent, but prefer to work alone, stalking prey from the comfort of darkness, and by making full use of their natural abilities.  They are mute, or  never speak by choice, and produce a heavy wet breathing sound from their mouth-hole.  Predatory creatures, the Shadowmass prefers to toy with its prey for a lengthy period, and will use fatigue and desperation as a means to further its goal.  Though they appear almost spectral, a Shadowmass has a physical presence and can be harmed by any conventional weaponry.  These creatures despise fire and light.
